Andrew Bird with the ASO, Symphony Hall — Multi-instrumentalist Bird returns to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his universally acclaimed The Mysterious Production of Eggs (2005), generally regarded as the finest release in his eclectic catalog. Better yet, he’s backed by full orchestration from the ASO on this short tour, which marks the first time he has played the album live in its entirety. While Bird’s dry voice is an acquired taste, this will be a rare experience, one unlikely to be repeated. He’ll also perform nuggets from a 30-year career that has consistently pushed the boundaries of folk, pop and jazz into interesting, often unlikely directions. — Hal Horowitz
