Indie Feature Filmmaking in Georgia

Many filmmakers never break beyond shorts to make a feature. These Georgia-based festival filmmakers discuss how they financed, shot, and edited their films on a budget, the ups and downs of the process, and the lessons they learned along the way.

Moderator:

Linda Burns

Panelists:

John Dierre & Ryan Dutter (Meta Take One)

Ryan is a musician & filmmaker based in Atlanta, and has been working on or making films since 2017. For Ryan film is akin to creating life on the screen & has become an absolute obsession in his life.

Timothy Hall (The Pastor's Daughter)

Timothy Hall has written and directed four feature films. A native of Macon, Georgia, he graduated from the School of Filmmaking at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.

Aaron Strand (Withdrawal)

A degenerate cinephile, Aaron Strand has been making films for longer than he can remember. When he's not making movies, he's podcasting about film news, hosting live screening events at The Plaza Theatre, or making his daughter a sandwich. His artistic tastes are drawn modern stories with hard-edge subject matter around love, addiction, alienation, and politics.
