High Stakes & Smoked Meats at Sweet Auburn Barbecue’s Mahjong Night

Sweet Auburn Barbecue is teaming up with House of Mahjong for a night made for serious tile-slingers. On Monday, June 2, 2025, beginning at 7 p.m., experienced American Mahjong players are invited to take a seat at the table for a fast-paced, skill-focused session of Guided Play at Sweet Auburn’s Poncey-Highland location. Designed for players who know their way around a joker, the two-hour session features unassisted play with support from a House of Mahjong instructor available to answer questions as needed. Guests will be matched with players of similar experience and must bring a 2024 or 2025 NMJL card (a limited number will be available on-site). Tickets are $70 per person and include a $25 food and beverage credit, perfect for stacking strong hands with smoked wings, brisket egg rolls, cocktails, and more. Mahjong sets and table setups will be provided. Capacity is limited, and advance registration is required.
