Old-Fashioned July 4th Picnic: Before the Boom
From the venue:
The Little 5 Points Community Center invites neighbors and friends to its Old-Fashioned July 4th Picnic: Before the Boom — a sweet and simple celebration of summer, community, and independence, all with a Little 5 twist. Join us on Friday, July 4, from 3 PM to 7 PM for an afternoon of fun before the fireworks begin.
Held at the historic L5P Community Center, this free, family-friendly event promises vintage vibes, local flavor, and offbeat charm. Expect picnic blankets, lawn games, watermelon slices, music, and plenty of porch-style socializing.
“There’s nothing quite like gathering with your community for an old-school Fourth of July celebration,” says David Shorter, L5Pcc Director. “This is a chance to enjoy each other’s company in a low-key way — before everyone heads off for the evening fireworks.”
Highlights include:
- Music by WRFG
Lawn games, bubbles, cake walks, and other surprises
Community potluck-style treats (optional to bring a dish)
- 3-D Fireworks Glasses for viewing fireworks later that evening (while supplies last)
