Reimagining medical narratives: A cyanotype workshop with Madison Nunes
From the venue:
Join artist Madison Nunes for the first open session of the Department of the Stolen Corporeal (DSC) — a space for reimagining our medical narratives.
Bring your body, your stories, your evidence. Bring tangible traces of your medical experience: hospital bracelets, x-rays, pill bottles, scans, even your physical self. Using cyanotype printing, Madison will help you transform this “evidence” into new images — fractured, recontextualized, and wholly yours.
Take home a new body. Take home a different story. Share yours with us.
The Department of the Stolen Corporeal is an on-going, multi-year research and visual art project that exists within the shifting spaces of performance and installation. With this project, and support from Idea Capital, Nunes sheds light on the often-overlooked challenges faced in healthcare settings and fosters a deeper understanding of trauma that goes beyond individual experiences.
