Atlanta Ballet: Giselle, Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center - A peasant girl in the Rhineland falls for a nobleman disguised as a villager; he returns her affections but his fancy fiancée is none too pleased. Chaos, madness, death, and ghostly apparitions ensue. The tragic tale first came to light in Paris in 1841, choreographed by Marius Petipa with a score by Adolphe Adam, and was a great success. The Atlanta Ballet production has staging by Gennadi Nedvigin and the conductor is Ari Pelto. - Kevin C. Madigan
