From the venue:

Join WABE for an exclusive screening of the new short documentary Beyond the Movement, which explores how Spelman's Dance and Choreography Department integrates technology into its curriculum, inspiring innovation among emerging dance and choreography professionals.

The evening will also feature an engaging panel discussion with Filmmaker & Director Booker T. Mattison and Professor T. Lang, MFA (Associate Professor and Inaugural Chair of Dance Performance and Choreography), moderated by WABE’s Senior Producer Brianna Ceola. Don’t miss this chance to go behind the scenes of the film and hear directly from the creative voices who brought it to life.

In addition, there will be a special screening of Becoming Thurgood: America’s Social Architect, a new one-hour documentary that explores the life and legacy of Thurgood Marshall—the visionary lawyer and civil rights leader who became the first Black justice on the United States Supreme Court.

These films are made possible through a public media partnership led by Maryland Public Television with support from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. #HBCUWeekNOW
