Business X Design with CocoaTown

MODA’s Business X Design series turns its attention to CocoaTown, the Alpharetta-based company revolutionizing how chocolate is made around the globe. Founded by Andal and Dr. M. Balu, CocoaTown designs roasters, grinders, and other machines that give small-scale makers the ability to transform cacao beans into chocolate bars. Their tools are used in more than 100 countries, empowering entrepreneurs—including women and growers in cacao-producing regions—to build businesses and reshape the global supply chain.

This evening program begins with time to explore BITTERSWEET: The Design of Chocolate, MODA’s current exhibition tracing the history and design of cacao. At 6 PM, exhibition designer Susan Sanders will host a conversation with CocoaTown, followed by a live demo of the machines in action. Guests can sip wine or prosecco while sampling three selections from Atlanta’s own Xocolatl. It’s a night where design, ethics, and indulgence come together in one delicious experience.
