Paul Chowdhry: Artificial Indian Tour, Buckhead Theatre - A Londoner of Punjabi descent, Paul Chowdry is closing his month-long US tour with a stop in Buckhead. Chowdhry ditched his attempt at a Computer Science degree and in the late 1990s switched to doing stand-up sets in pubs and clubs around London, often enduring racist taunts. These days he tends to use the signature phrase "what's happening white people?" at the start of his routines. "The fact that I'm Asian has very little to do with my stand-up, although it would have an influence for an obvious reason because of the way I'm perceived by certain people," Chowdhry says, "so I play on the stereotypes and try to change them." - Kevin C.
