Steve Baskin And The Fourteens: Record Release Party
From the venue:
Steve Baskin and the Fourteens: Record Release Party live at Eddie's Attic!
Steve Baskin is commemorating the 20th anniversary of his debut album, I Sometimes Think, with a fresh new recording featuring his incredible band The Fourteens. And just like two decades ago, he’s celebrating the release of the record at Eddie’s Attic.
Steve is an Atlanta-based Pop Americana singer/songwriter. Prior to this issuing of I Sometimes Think, Steve has released five full-length albums of his own music. And in April of this year, he released Under Cover, a collection of his favorite cover tunes that came out in April. Americana Highways says that the songs on Under Cover ‘hit the sweet spot with a heavy dose of badassery.’
Tinnitist Magazine describes Steve Baskin and the Fourteen’s sound as being “set against a late ’70s-style backdrop that suggests members of The Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, Eagles and Fleetwood Mac channeling Al Green at Willie Mitchell’s Royal Studios in Memphis. It’s the kind of sophisticated, deliberate statement that comes only with decades of hard-earned experience — at life, love and music.”
Music Connection Magazine calls Baskin a “gifted lyricist” combining "Blue-eyed American soul, country, pop and rock 'n' roll to great effect.” Skope Magazine describes Steve as “a smart lyricist” who “deserves to be better known. He’s quietly creating a strong catalogue of songs.”
Frequenze Musicali (Italy) said “the authenticity of Steve Baskin's soul music is impressive. He cut his teeth on the road accompanying legendary artists such as Sam Moore (Sam & Dave), Percy Sledge, Carla Thomas and The Shirelles.”
