On October 17 at 8 PM, the Strand Performing Arts Center proudly presents Shawn Mullins as part of the Homegrown Georgia Songwriter Series, sponsored by Johnson & Alday, LLC. After his breakthrough in 1998 with the Grammy-nominated hit “Lullaby” from the album Soul’s Core, Mullins quickly became a household name in the Americana and AAA music scenes. This celebrated Georgia songwriter has a rich history, with hits like “Beautiful Wreck” and contributions to soundtracks for Dawson’s Creek and the 2000 Summer Olympics. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Soul’s Core, Mullins is revisiting the beloved album with Soul’s Core Revival, featuring brand new arrangements and recordings. This performance promises an intimate experience, showcasing his original music alongside fresh interpretations, including solo guitar and piano renditions, and the full band experience with Soul Carnival.
