Hiromi: One Night Only!

CRITIC’S PICK:
Sat., Oct. 11
Hiromi’s Sonicwonder, Gas South Theatre — Classically trained, jazz/fusion pianist Hiromi Uehara has been blowing away audiences with her eye-popping keyboard virtuosity since her 2003 debut. High-profile stints with fellow keyboard whiz Chick Corea and in bassist Stanley Clarke’s band increased her visibility. But a series of solo and group albums over the past decade, incorporating pop, prog, classical and even gospel, cemented her status as one of the finest, most nimble, talented and eclectic musicians in jazz. Sonicwonder, her recent project, further expands Hiromi’s already wide boundaries. Adding trumpet, enhancing the electronics already ingrained in her music and releasing two terrific albums that further display her remarkable prowess as a songwriter, player, and band leader creates a fresh and unique approach. But it’s on stage where everything comes together. Concerts that feature her lively, energetic personality, display Hiromi’s charm and natural stage instincts. Don’t miss this rare Atlanta performance. — Hal Horowitz
From the venue:
Experience Hiromi's latest production, OUT THERE (Feat. Sonicwonder), which brings together world-class musicians of fascinatingly diverse backgrounds. French-born Hadrien Faroud is a fusion virtuoso who's been rightfully compared to bass god Jaco Pastorius. Gene Coye is one of the most sought-after drummers because of his well-established grooves and pocket. Trumpet virtuoso Adam O'Farrill is part of a family dynasty that includes father and grandfather Arturo and Chico O'Farril. High-energy.Hiromi: One Night Only! | 10/11/2025 8:00 PM
