Darren English
From the venue:
South African trumpet sensation Darren English has forged a global reputation for his skills as a performer, arranger, and composer. In 2016 both JAZZIZ Magazine and The Huffington Post named him on their “best of the year” lists, and his influential debut album, Imagine Nation, earned rave reviews on every continent. A work of extraordinary imagination and artistry, it features, among others, vocalist Carmen Bradford, pianist Kenny Banks, Jr., and the recorded voice of Freedom Fighter Nelson Mandela.
Darren has collaborated with such artists as Grammy Award-winning saxophonist Kebbi Williams, Dave Matthews, Lil John Roberts, PJ Morton, Stefon Harris, and Marcus Gilmore. He recently completed a three-month tour of Europe, India, and the U.S. that showcased many of his original works.
Beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary, the concert follows with Q&A by Jazz at All Saints’ Artistic Director Virginia Schenck and a reception in the Parish House.
