Aaron Irwin Trio at eyedrum
CRITIC’S PICK
Wed., Aug. 13
Expect improvisational roustabouting, sympathetic reciprocity and unorthodox grooviness when the Aaron Irwin Trio – Irwin (saxophones, clarinets), Mike Baggetta (guitar) and Bill Campbell (drums) – makes its eyedrum debut Wednesday.
Sharing the bill is FRANKS, a duo comprising banjoist, keyboardist and electronic effects specialist Frank Schultz (Duet for Theremin & Lap Steel) and cello wizard Brian Halloran (W8ing4UFOs). FRANKS' dense ambient, space music is expertly crafted for maximum absorption by receptive minds.
Serves Me Right to Suffer (Bill Taft, Iriamu, Priscilla Smith) has been described as “a mashup of improv music, theater and spoken word.” Not having seen them yet, I’m looking forward to witnessing what they bring to the stage. – Doug DeLoach.
