CRITIC’S PICK
Thurs., Oct. 22
Benjamin Tod & Lost Dog Street Band, Conrad Moore, Variety Playhouse — Classic country lover, Tod has been busy. First came Vengeance and Grace (2026), a double album of new songs played with a band on one disc and solo on the other. A few months later he unleashes the digital only County is Dead, the latter tongue-in-cheek title covering a dozen C&W standards from Jimmie Rogers, George Jones, Billy Joe Shaver and even Bob Dylan and The Byrds. So he has plenty of material for a few hours of honky tonking classic country, the way it used to sound. — Hal Horowitz
