Steep Canyon Rangers, Eddie Owen Presents at Red Clay - This veteran North Carolina acoustic ensemble, best known for backing iconic comedian/actor Steve Martin, has been slinging what has been described as "progressive bluegrass" for a quarter century. Fifteen albums and a few GRAMMY® wins later, they still crank out the twang. There is an upcoming release, Next Act, due in May, of which you'll probably get a taste. But with a catalog as rich and thick as this outfit's, they can't fit the highlights into a single show. Martin won't be along tonight; he would be a distraction from these guys' extraordinary talent and musicality. - Hal Horowitz
