Travel back in time to when mammoths, camels, and saber-toothed cats roamed the ancient shores of Lake Bonneville and witness its dramatic transformation into today’s Great Salt Lake in Utah, formed by one of the largest floods in Earth’s history.

In Secrets of Great Salt Lake, guests are immersed in a rare ecosystem where unusual creatures thrive in waters five times saltier than the ocean, even though the lake is fed by pure freshwater . The flow of the water begins in the Rockies, where mountain lions roam and skiers carve through the greatest snow on Earth, then flows past vast aspen groves, into bird-filled wetlands, and finally into the Great Salt Lake, home to pronghorn and bison — with each area along the way serving as a sanctuary for wildlife.

As you learn about the history of the Great Salt Lake, m eet the inspiring community of scientists, Indigenous leaders, farmers, and youth who are working together to protect this vital lake and watershed for the benefit of all. This uplifting film shows how water connects all life on Earth.
