The Sun ATL celebrates its first anniversary with "BRILLIANT!" featuring over 100 original works by 21 international artists spanning four generations.
The front gallery showcases three new assemblages by Kosmo Vinyl (former manager of The Clash) in collaboration with Atlanta neon artist Vyvyan Hughes. These protest works anchor the "RESIST!" installation alongside photographs by Jim Alexander and Chicago-based Michael Jackson, with powerful pieces by the late Purvis Young. Ruth Franklin debuts new paintings, continuing her decades-long practice as one of the Southeast's most vital artists.
Suspended from the skylight above the central staircase, Amina Buhler-Allen's spectacular 120-Cell (4D Dodecahedron) - one of only a few worldwide - features 998 double TIG-welded stainless steel rods. Sir Roger Penrose called it " the most beautiful object that I know of." It is embodied mathematics at the intersection of art, engineering, and cosmology.
Our Print Room features top UK artist printmakers including Anne Desmet RA. Atlanta artists Eben Dunn and SCAD grad Raphael Bahindwa also debut recent works in this dynamic exhibition.
Opening MLK Holiday Weekend in historic Sweet Auburn.
