Join us for an unforgettable night of music as Joe Craven, master sound farmer, educator, and collaborator with legends like Jerry Garcia and David Grisman, shares the stage with Gaurav Malhotra, a world-class percussionist whose drumming bridges rhythmic traditions with global grooves. Together, these two dynamic artists bring decades of experience, innovation, and soulful rhythm to create a boundary-breaking performance that celebrates the spirit of folk, jazz, and world music. Joining them for this special show are Chattanooga's Musical heavy weights Joel Forlines, Danimal Pinson and Tyler Martelli.
 

Joe Craven

Joe Craven is a sound farmer, educator, record producer, and former museologist. For over 40 years, he has made a living preserving and playing forward the folk tradition by reimagining it as new music. Joe has recorded and played with Jerry Garcia, David Lindley, David Grisman, Vassar Clements, Rob Ickes, Alison Brown and many other innovative artists. He has produced many recordings of his own, including the critically acclaimed CDs “Camptown,” “Django Latino,” and “Garcia Songbook” and has produced recordings for many other artists.  He has also created music and sound effects for commercials, soundtracks and computer games.
As an educator, Joe is featured in the PBS television series, Music Gone Public and he is the Director of RiverTunes’ bundle of camps, including, JAMboree, Vocáli Voice Camp, and WinterTunes Online Camp. He’s a recipient of the Folk Alliance Far-West Performer of the Year Award

Gaurav Malhotra:
Gaurav Malhotra, an accomplished percussionist and drummer hailing from India, boasts a remarkable performing and recording career spanning over 25 years. Melding his rich heritage and profound study of global rhythms, Gaurav has sculpted a drumming style that captivates audiences and shared the stage with Jam Band greats like Widespread Panic, Umphry's McGee, Karl Denson, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band and Jazz greats like Earl Klugh, Grant Green Jr. and Count M Butu . Presently, he continues to collaborate with acclaimed artists such as Grant Green Jr., Charlie Starr , Benji Shanks and The Mosier Brothers Band.
