CRITIC’S PICK Wed., Jan. 28 - Sun., Feb. 22Bleeding Hearts by Steve Yockey, Theatrical Outfit — No good deed goes unpunished. Steve Yockey, known for ‘The Flight Attendant’ and ‘Supernatural,’ expounds on this perennial theme with a dark comedy in which a married couple copes with a dodgy houseguest and an intrusive neighbor who has kleptomaniacal tendencies. Yockey calls his play “a borderline absurdist farce about income inequality.” It’s recommended for audiences older than sixteen. — Kevin C. Madigan

From the venue:

Following the World Premiere of Venus as part of last season’s LAUNCHPAD, Atlanta playwright Steve Yockey returns with another World Premiere BLEEDING HEARTS – a breakneck, pitch-black farce about the disappearing middle class & how people forget to put themselves in each others’ shoes. Sloane isn’t sure why exactly her husband Timothy brought home a probably dangerous drifter with a knife, but she doesn’t like it. Of course, it’s hard to focus when her wealthy neighbor keeps dropping by to steal anything not nailed down. Witness the state of the world in a smart, blistering and hilarious way that only Yockey can deliver.
