Sunday March 15, 2026, 5:00pm

Sponsored by the Center for Hellenic Studies at Georgia State University, Lykion ton Ellinidon Atlanta, and the Annunciation Cathedral Philoptochos Society

Elene Catrakilis is an award-winning writer, born in South Africa to Greek-Cypriot parents. Her work explores themes of cultural identity, belonging, displacement, faith and the resilience of women.

Under An African Sky explores universal themes of friendship, faith, and politics set in Johannesburg during the final years of apartheid. It delves into the heartbreak of betrayal and how neither countries nor people can move forward unless they are willing to confront their past and forgive one another.
