A SCAD degree leads to dynamic new territory. For these alumni, the courts, fields, and creative teams of major sports outfits fulfilled their pursuits.
Benny Gold (B.F.A., graphic design, 1998) is a visual hype man and freelance artist for the Golden State Warriors, developing digital media and vibrant collateral from his eponymous studio. As the vice president of brand creative for the Hawks, Shirley Zhang-Hamlin (B.F.A., graphic design, 2010) oversees innovative decisions across the Atlanta Hawks, College Park Skyhawks, Hawks Talon GC, and State Farm Arena. Benny Goldberg (B.F.A., industrial design, 2023) contributes to the functional and aesthetic flow of fellow athletes as a freelance footwear phenom, owning several award-winning designs and a former role with The Shoe Surgeon. Creator of ATL’s official FIFA World Cup 2026 poster, Jose Hadathy (B.F.A., painting, 2013) manages creative design for Atlanta United, embracing his soccer fanaticism and penchant for visual innovation.
