Surrender Hill, Marietta Park - Married couple Robin Dean Salmon and Afton Seekins Salmon play strummy Americana with enough edge to sneak their music nearer to the mainstream. Their seventh album, River of Tears (2024), brought them closer to a rock sound with country tinges, but it's the songs that connect better than before. Both have strong voices and when they harmonize, the combination is especially effective. Take it from fan and fellow Americana traveler Rodney Crowell who says "Robin is smart, funny, poetic and in possession of a melodic wit." You'll hear songs from their new Wild Country disc. - Hal Horowitz

"Elements of Americana, Folk, Country and Singer/Songwriter, sounding like a perfect cross between Bruce Springsteen, Rodney Crowell and Dolly Parton, both vocally and musically speaking.
