Kölsch Fest, Summerhill
CRITIC’S PICK:
Sat., Apr. 18 - Sun., Apr. 19
Kölsch Fest, Summerhill — Halfway Crooks Beer, the lager brewpub in Summerhill, is hosting its fifth annual bash during a weekend in April dedicated to traditional German pours. “Kölsch Fest has always been about bringing Cologne’s culture to Atlanta and sharing it with our neighbors,” says the pub’s Shawn Cooper. Germanic delicacies are being served, and there will be live music too, all taking place in “a lively biergarten environment designed for staying awhile.” On top of that, runners get to compete in a “non-traditional” 5K, with the first wave starting at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. The run consists of five 1K routes, each one representing a 20cl pour of Farina Kölsch, the brewpub’s top seller. Winners get to imbibe their libations after completing a course. — Kevin C. Madigan
From the venue:
Halfway Crooks Beer is proud to announce the 5th Annual Kölsch Fest, returning April 18–19 for a two day celebration of Kölsch, community, and traditional Kölsch style service in Atlanta’s Summerhill neighborhood.
What began as a focused appreciation for one of Germany’s most drinkable beer styles has grown into a spring tradition. Kölsch Fest is Halfway Crooks’ love letter to the style: crisp beers, proper service, good food, and a biergarten full of happy people.
