CRITIC’S PICK
Fri., Oct. 9
Turnpike Troubadours, Muscadine Bloodline, The Creekers, Synovus Bank Amphitheater at Chastain Park — As their itinerant name implies, Turnpike Troubadours have been rootsy road warriors, gradually attaining arena-headlining status as one of Americana’s most popular acts. They have been at it since 2007, gradually combining outlaw country influences with folk, singer/songwriter and melodic rock without selling out to a slicker, more commercial sound. Their ascent to the upper reaches of their genre is even more impressive because they took a five-year hiatus when lead singer/songwriter/founder Even Felker went to rehab. But they returned reinvigorated, exemplified by the emotionally powerful tunes on their latest, The Price of Admission (2025). This strong triple bill also includes Alabama’s Muscadine Bloodline, headliners in their own right with a rough but heartfelt slant to their country/Southern rocking. — Hal Horowitz
