Franz Ferdinand at Buckhead Theatre

Franz Ferdinand, Greater Glasgow Cultural Exchange, Buckhead Theatre - This glammy Glasgow pop/rock quintet exploded onto the marketplace in 2004 with a debut that still sounds fresh and experimental. They haven't quite matched the energy or songwriting that made that initial stab so popular, although the 2015 collaboration with the equally offbeat Sparks was a highlight of both bands' catalogs. While they will surely tap into older music, Franz Ferdinand also features the more electronic, even disco direction they took on The Human Fear (2025). A new single "U Should Not Be Doing That" brings back the guitars and glam. - Hal Horowitz
