Charley Crockett at Synovus Bank Amphitheater at Chastain Park

Charlie Crockett, Durand Jones & the Indications, Synovus Bank Amphitheatre at Chastain Park - This terrific, if somewhat unlikely, pairing combines two smaller venue headliners in the more cavernous confines of Atlanta's classic outdoor amphitheater. Crockett's near non-stop, retro-styled country albums and aw-shucks vocals have made the hard working musician an unlikely star in a field few others with his aggressively non-commercial sound achieve. He has already released two albums of original songs this year adding to a pair from 2025. The latest is Clovis, which edges toward blues with C&W twang. Soulman Jones, along with singer Aaron Frazier, revive the era of Marvin Gaye-styled smooth R&B with class and verve. It's a cool, if unusual, bill. - Hal Horowitz
