In 1980 and, again, in 2016, the internationally renowned Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Chorus electrified Carnegie Hall audiences with probing, spine-tingling performances of Brahms' A German Requiem. In the early 2000s, the Berlin Philharmonic brought the ASO Chorus to sing the work for Brahms’s fellow countrymen.

The concert opens with a work featuring the artistry of two ASO principals in the tender and endearing Duet-Concertino by Richard Strauss.
