Tame Impala - The Deadbeat Tour

Tame Impala, Djo, State Farm Arena - Sixteen years removed from Tame Impala's debut, the Australian indie act has become the wildly successful alias of Kevin Parker. So much so that this is the second of his two-night stint at this expansive arena. While the band's earlier albums had danceable beats, Parker has gone commercial, almost disco and certainly EDM on his most recent release, last year's Deadbeat. The retro late-70s sheen of hit single "Dracula" could have been a Bee Gees Saturday Night Fever B-side, especially when Parker shifts into falsetto. Opener DJO is the alias of actor Joe Keery, best known through his work on Stanger Things. His slick, somewhat retro synth-pop/soul should get the crowd sufficiently warmed up. - Hal Horowitz
