Robbie Fulks at Red Clay Music Foundry
CRITIC’S PICK
Thurs., Oct. 8
Robbie Fulks, Eddie Owen Presents at Red Clay Theatre — Longtime Eddie’s Attic visitor moves over to the larger digs at the Red Clay Theatre. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the witty folk/country/roots rocking singer/songwriter’s recorded debut. He’s alternated between major label and indie imprints over those decades, but lately has been working with longtime Nashville indie imprint Compass, which released Now and Then (2025). It’s his usual combination of crafty lyrics matched with pop, rock, and folk influences, and sung in a voice that borrows from James Taylor’s easy croon. Fans of Loudon Wainwright lll are probably already on board with Fulks, whose darkly lyrical approach, especially when recounting family issues in “Thirty-Year Marriage,” is comparable to the folk veteran’s style. — Hal Horowitz
From the venue:
“It’s time to make a change,” Robbie Fulks declares at the start of Now Then, his second album on Nashville’s Compass Records. This statement is familiar to anyone who follows this critically acclaimed and GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter’s career.Robbie Fulks at Red Clay Music Foundry | 10/08/2026 8:00 PM
