BabyChiefDoIt, Loft - Mainstream teenage rappers almost feel like a fever dream, a figment of hip-hop's past that felt too corny to be revisited in hip-hop's cool, alternative era in the 2020s. Clearly, BabyChiefDoIt doesn't think so, as he not only notched a spot on XXL's 2025 freshman list at the age of 16, but also a scene-stealing spot on Chance the Rapper's "Star Line" fan favorite track "Drapetomania" at the age of 17. Now, BabyChiefDoIt is only weeks away from turning 18, but before his birthday arrives, he is set to deliver an energetic performance at the Loft on July 16. The Chicago-bred upstart is touring in support of his recently released project "RAMBO" - an inspiring acronym for "Rise Against My Broken Odds" - so give it a listen before you go see him later this month. - joshua robinson
