In "Heart of a Bird" Constance Thalken explores the messy and deeply entangled connection between humans and the natural world. Humans and animals sit side by side to ask timeless questions about their complex relationships. Narratives of masculinity in the landscape are juxtaposed with children and animals to uncover unexpected moments of grace in the everyday. The work confronts the dualities of power and frailty, predator and prey, survival and the shared destiny of death.
