Public Image Ltd: This Is Not The Last Tour with With Special Guests Plague Vendor

CRITIC’S PICK
Thursday, October. 8
Public Image Ltd, Variety Playhouse — With no new album to flog — the last new material was End of the World in 2023 — modern day PiL will rely on crowd faves from the John Lydon-led band’s close to forty year career. No disappointment there! Expect that to include Public Image Ltd’s first single, “Public Image,” as well as the Metal Box highlight “Death Disco,” along with a surprising number of other early “deep cuts” from last century rather than the band focusing on tracks from more recent LPs recorded with the musicians on hand. Yeah, there are some surprising gems included on this year’s tour. Should be fun if not ferocious. — Tony Paris
