Waylon Wyatt - Dustpiles World Tour at Variety Playhouse
CRITIC’S PICK
Fri., Oct. 16
Waylon Wyatt, Variety Playhouse — The fresh-faced 19-year-old Arkansas born and bred Wyatt hit big with his first singles “Everything Under the Sun,” and “Arkansas Diamond” (2023). He has maintained that momentum with a youthful outlaw stance on a recently released debut full-length Dustpiles. His clean, clear voice highlights songs about broken romantic relationships, in particular on a new track, where he duets with country singer Carter Faith, “I’m Sorry But I Love You.” He’s influenced by Tyler Childers and his darker country style can be traced to that country superstar. Wyatt is relatively new to be headlining a venue of this size, but he’s on the way up, so catch him now. — Hal Horowitz
