Bao Night is Back at Sweet Auburn Barbecue

Bao Night is back at Sweet Auburn Barbecue on Thursday, August 13, bringing a little Hsu family tradition to Poncey-Highland beginning at 5 p.m. The special menu features three $5 bao that capture Sweet Auburn’s signature mix of Chinese roots and Southern barbecue: the Hsu Family Bao, Char Siu Bao and Lemongrass Smoked Chicken Bao. They’ll be available first come, first served until sold out. The restaurant’s full food and bar menus will also be available throughout the evening. Founded by siblings Howard and Anita Hsu, Sweet Auburn Barbecue has spent more than a decade putting its own spin on barbecue, pairing smoked meats and Southern staples with the Asian flavors they grew up with. Bao Night has become a natural extension of that story and a favorite among regulars. The restaurant is located at 656 N. Highland Avenue NE in Atlanta.
