From the venue:

Soul Cinema Sundays returns to the Plaza Theatre on Sunday, October 11 at 4 PM for a special screening of They Cloned Tyrone, the acclaimed 2023 science fiction comedy mystery starring John Boyega, Jamie Foxx, abd Teyonah Parris. The screening will also feature a special pre-film presentation of "Thomasville", a 14-minute psychodrama from Atlanta filmmaker Alex Woodruff, followed by an after-film discussion featuring Big Gipp of Goodie Mob and Woodruff. The conversation will be moderated by Atlanta-Journal Constitution journalist Christopher Daniel and hosted by poet Abyss Graham, host of Soul Cinema Sundays.

The after-film conversation will explore the themes and ideas presented in both films, including conspiracy, social conditioning, Black life, community, identity, legacy, and the ways science fiction can reflect real-world experiences. The discussion will also include audience Q&A.
