Vicente came out at 50, leaving his wife and daughter and spending the next 25 years living openly and happily with his partner in Maspalomas, Gran Canaria. At 76, a stroke leaves him in a coma and turns his life upside down. When he awakens, he discovers that he has been moved back to Donostia, where his daughter has placed him in a nursing home. Deciding not to explain his sexual orientation, Vicente gradually retreats into the closet, renouncing the freedom and identity he worked so hard to claim.
