In 1862, Baldur (Egor Venned) leads a fisherman’s life on the isolated Faroe Islands, far out in the North Atlantic. His world is transformed by the arrival of Helge (Pilou Asbæk), a rugged whaler who awakens feelings Baldur has never dared acknowledge. As their mutual attraction grows, tragedy strikes—and their forbidden passion unleashes mystical forces so disturbing that the villagers rally to keep evil at bay. Sexy, spooky, haunting and deeply romantic, director Kasper Kalle’s queer gothic romance follows two men determined not to let their love be buried—even by death.
