Rialto Film Series Presents: Selena

From the venue:

Audiences will be tapping their feet and dabbing tears for “Selena,” at once an inspiring and tragic true story of the Texas-born Tejana singer who rose from Corpus Christi cult status to performing at Houston’s Astrodome with Billboard charting hits. Starring Jennifer Lopez in her breakout “role of a lifetime” with costars Edward James Olmos, John Seda and Lupe Ontiveros, this biographical drama details Selena’s extraordinary career and tragic slaying as her career transcended Tejano into crossover, mainstream success. With soundtrack songs blending pop, mariachi, cumbia and reggae, the film is presented with the Rialto’s recently upgraded digital projector, screen and sound system.
