Maya Ayam

Hailing from Southwest Georgia, Maya Ayam is multi-disciplinary artist that is not to be defined by one sound. Growing up surrounded by 70s & 90s RnB, gospel, and southern hip-hop enabled the 22 year old Atlanta-based artist to tap into her natural curiosity to diversify her sound that would lead her to uncover the world of hip-hop fully, while also delving into EDM, pop, and classic rock.

During her time at Georgia State University, she became a Certified Entertainer (performing artist) for nonprofit music network, NCEG (National Collegiate Entertainers Group). Through mentorship and guidance, the organization enabled her to hone in on performance skills, establish her own off-kilter production and push the bounds of her lyricism as it relates to her deep southern roots.

With musical influences such as Missy Elliot, Dungeon Family, Big K.R.I.T., Erykah Badu, Digable Planets, the rapper/producer/ songwriter has solidified loyal fanbase through her fearless and outspoken music and numerous electrifying performances on major platforms around the city such as A3C, MARTA, and the Atlanta Beltline.
