Lola's Jam Band

The Monday night jam at Northside Tavern is one of Atlanta’s longest-running musical traditions, featuring a rotating lineup of seasoned musicians and open participation from local players. Led by Stuart Harth (percussion), Theron Merritt (bass), Randell Rivers (guitar), and Evan Bruneau (drums), the house band kicks things off around 10 p.m., laying down a solid foundation of blues, soul and R&B. Musicians are encouraged to bring their instruments and join in on the iconic stage, keeping the room alive with spontaneity and collaboration.

This weekly jam is held in honor of Lola Gulley, a legendary blues and R&B singer, keyboardist and pillar of the Atlanta blues community. For years, Lola hosted the Monday night jam, offering support and stage time to musicians of all ages and skill levels. After her passing on March 30, 2022, the jam continues as a tribute to her legacy of inclusivity, mentorship and love for live music.
