Jontavious Willis

Jontavious Willis is a Grammy-nominated musician and songwriter dedicated to bringing new vitality to traditional blues. Raised in rural Georgia and steeped in gospel music from an early age, he developed a passion for the blues at 14 after discovering Muddy Waters. His dynamic performances draw from Delta, Piedmont, Texas, and gospel blues traditions, combining technical skill, Southern charm, and a deep respect for the genre’s roots. Willis first gained national attention when Taj Mahal invited him to perform onstage in 2015, later opening for Taj Mahal and Keb’ Mo’ during their TajMo tour. His acclaimed albums Blue Metamorphosis and Spectacular Class showcase his ability to honor the past while pushing the blues forward for a new generation.
