Empire State

Empire State was an experimental rock trio based in Athens, Georgia, led by brothers Jay and Tim Nackashi with Alex McManus. Known for their handcrafted instruments, sample-driven arrangements, and DIY ethos, the group blends art rock, ambient textures, and pop structure into a cinematic sound. Originally from Florida, the Nackashis formed Empire State after their previous band, Beekeeper, dissolved. Their home-studio setup doubles as a creative playground for sonic invention, fueling a debut release on Athens label Warm and live shows filled with eclectic visuals and deconstructed compositions.
