Jimmie Dale Gilmore is a Texas-born country singer-songwriter known for his distinctive voice and lyrical style. Raised in Lubbock, he was shaped by early influences like Hank Williams, Buddy Holly, and the 1960s folk revival. A founding member of The Flatlanders alongside Joe Ely and Butch Hancock, Gilmore helped define progressive country. He continues to perform and record from his home base in Austin.
