While many may define shochu as a Japanese vodka, it is so much more. Go with the yuzu (Japanese citrus). Again a... | more...

I'm 6 feet tall, 240 pounds. Not many people are going to mess with me about being bald. I walk around with these shades and, being bald, people think I'm the Terminator, especially the kids. They see me and form an opinion that I'm going to be a hard-ass, but I just nice them to death. People are surprised I'm always so nice. Some women find baldness attractive. My girlfriend...

He won't get me anything. Never does. He already told me he's not getting me anything for Valentine's Day. I got him something for Christmas, and he got really mad and felt obligated so he got me an earplug. On my birthday he got me a piece of paper and wrote Happy Birthday on it. I'm romantic. I want to show him I love him on these special occasions. But I still know he...

KATHLEEN, ATLANTA
I like that people are being patriotic. I hope that it's going to be lasting and not just something that's superficial. It's kind of a knee-jerk reaction, and I hope that it's going to affect people in more than just flag waving, that people are really going to think about how they treat each other. America means the world at this point, and there are so many different...

Herman Munster: Me and Lily are going to go to the graveyard out back, and we're going to watch the moon, look at some graves, hang out at the graveyard and say hello to some old family members. We have a big party going on at 1313 Mockingbird Lane this year. We have a girl named Marilyn. She didn't turn out quite as pretty as the rest of the family. We still love her, but she's not as pretty.... | more...

CLAY, ATLANTA
I see more of an influx of ethnic music coming into the inner-city mainstream, coming from Memorial Drive with the Jamaicans and West Indians. There's a lot of very talented people doing a lot of music that generally doesn't make it into the Ponce de Leon/Piedmont corridor that I hope will make it in. Of course, the Latin music from Buford Highway area and Indian music, all that's...

DAVID, ATLANTA:
Aurora. The blend is deeper and richer. When you go to the others, the coffee is so cranked out. It's such mass quantity the coffee gets lost. At Aurora it's smaller, quaint, catering to a more contained number where you can really work the coffee thing. The others it's "next, next, next." Each cup of coffee is different from the next. Just depends on the day, the person who's...

Zira, Atlanta: I don't run around at the dog park at Piedmont Park because it's muddy and big dogs nearly kill me, so I run around at Piedmont Park without a leash because I love the wet grass. But I get nearly run over by bicyclists going a hundred miles an hour through the park. I think they should not be allowed to ride on the paths in the park. I'm named after the chimpanzee in Planet of... | more...

Leah: I believe that vagabond gypsy street music is one big step to making Atlanta better. I try to bring some street character to the city. We play fiddle banjo music on rainy, cold street corners anytime we get the chance. The more street traffic and pedestrian-friendly you can get around here, the better. Makes the city more lively, diverse, art-oriented, certainly more interesting.

Buckhead Backlot. You can drink beer and eat like a pig. Lenox sucks. No student discount and no one works there except one stoned guy. Parents love taking their babies to R-rated movies there so you hear all this crying. They never have anything good. It's always the same genre, movies like Space Cadet, Monkeys Return From Planet X and Martin Lawrence movies. The...

Smitty: I like downtown — the atmosphere, the whole vibe of a big city. I'm actually a traffic person. I like traffic, and I like the traffic downtown on Peachtree. It gives the place a vibe. And the crowd downtown has a good idea of how things work. In Buckhead, it seems to be chaos every time. It's traffic with people I don't want to be around; they're young and immature. You mix them... | more...
