Festival History

The Atlanta Film Festival has been operating since 1977, with a predecessor festival, the Atlanta International Film Festival, beginning in 1968. Over the years, the festival has grown into one of the city’s most important recurring arts events, with programming that spans features, shorts, documentaries, and special presentations.
