Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens will speak at a ribbon-cutting event Friday for Covenant House, a new 30-unit apartment complex at 1559 Johnson Road that caters to homeless LGBTQ youth in the Atlanta area. Malik Brown, director of the mayor’s Division of LGBTQ Affairs, will also attend.

Covenant House Georgia is a nonprofit organization for young people experiencing homelessness, providing them with food, shelter, counseling, education and vocational training, 40 percent of whom identify as LGBTQ. covenanthousega.org
