For years, cross-country teams have jogged on the rooted paths and trekked up the grueling hills of KENNESAW MOUNTAIN NATIONAL BATTLEFIELD PARK. The park offers about 17 miles of trails that wind through some of the Civil War battlefields, monuments and earthworks. And there’s a spectacular view of Atlanta from the top of the mountain. If you head west, young man, late at night along the Freedom Parkway jogging trail, you'll catch a gorgeous view of downtown. For this panorama, the Freedom Parkway trail has been nominated as the best view in Atlanta. But it's a great jogging path because the trail is largely uninhabited compared to Piedmont Park or Chastain, which allows runners to set their own pace without feeling the need to show off for the other runners. less...
