The 70-year-old institution, currently conducted by Robert Spano, will fittingly open with Gustav Mahler's “Resurrection” Symphony. The ridiculously epic piece was Mahler's most successful work, perfecting his ability to merge multiple styles and forms into a cohesive narrative. A full chorus including guests Soprano Laura Tatulescu and mezzo-soprano Kelley O' Connor will round out the lineup.
