Speakerfoxxx's 'Skin' is a mixtape for when you're coming home from the club

This one is a groove for adults ...

Image For her third mixtape titled Skin, Speakerfoxxx diverges from the gritty street-hardened anthems of her prior offerings to delve into a lush, late-night sound. It's a jam for the bedroom, and that's exactly what she had in mind when she made it.

Speakerfoxxx:

"With this mixtape I wanted to do something a little different from what I did with my previous projects - something more intimate. In the past, my mixtapes have been harder, so I wanted to put together something that's more personal. I wanted to share another side of my musical taste with people. Normally my mixtapes, Dope Boy Anthems and Dope Girl Anthems, in my opinion, are best when you're partying or headed to the club, or just out riding around. With Skin I wanted to create a playlist for someone to listen to when they were on their way home from the club - music to come down to. Music to fuck to, or make love to. Music to make you feel good or sexy or soft."

From the sensual gloss of the Jai Paul intro she's blended into a 40-minute deluge of music, Speakerfoxx may have changed up the mood, but she hasn't eschewed her tried-and-true blending of trap, hip-hop, and classic beats. XXYYXX's "About You feat. 2 Chainz (DJ Fergie Ferg Trap Rmx)," Frank Ocean's "Pyramids," and Kilo Ali's "Baby Baby," find a common groove, and when they sync up the atmosphere is thick.
